UNIPORT Students Shut Down Over New School Fee Policy
On Monday, students of the University of Port Harcourt shut down all academic activities in the school over a no fee no examination policy recently adopted by the university management. The protesting students argued that the new policy was unfair and a means of mistreating the students. The protest started around 4:30am. Students blocked the East-West Road, stopping vehicular and human traffic. The students, who were billed to start exams today, vowed not to leave the road until the university vice chancellor, Prof Sunday Lale, addressed them.
